Flights from Budapest to Zagreb
Perhaps the two most enchanting cities in Eastern Europe are the capitals of Hungary and Croatia. Lying along the banks of the Danube, Budapest is an elegantly pretty city full of stunning architecture. Similarly, with its mix of medieval buildings and imposing edifices, such as the Grand Theater, Zagreb can be breathtaking to the newcomer, and as flights from Budapest to Zagreb take less than an hour, any visitor to either city shouldn’t miss out on the chance of visiting the other.
As both cities are ranked among the most beautiful in the world, anybody interested in medieval architecture or European history would be a fool to miss out on the opportunity of visiting Zagreb when staying in Budapest. Flights from Budapest to Zagreb leave at least once a day from Budapest’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport, and it doesn’t cost much to fly from Budapest to Zagreb either.
Traveling from Budapest to Zagreb
While both countries are in Europe, neither Croatia and Hungary are part of the eurozone, so you will have to change money if you get a flight from Budapest to Zagreb. However, as both Budapest’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport and Zagreb’s Pleso Airport both have ample bureau de change facilities, exchanging Hungarian forints for Croatian kuna isn’t difficult.
Flights from Budapest to Zagreb take 55 minutes, which makes the trip from one country to another possible just for the day. However, with so much to see and do in the Croatian capital, you really want to spend more than a day in the city. Furthermore, while flying from Hungary to Croatia takes less than an hour, there are only one or two flights from Budapest to Zagreb each day, so it can make it impractical as a day trip.
Cheap flights from Budapest to Zagreb
The cost of flights from Budapest to Zagreb isn’t that expensive and tickets are easy to find online. Unfortunately, the number of airlines that regularly fly from the capitals of Hungary and Croatia is limited, but you can still get a good deal by comparing airline ticket prices online. However, catching a flight from Budapest to Croatia is not the only possible way of commuting between the two cities, and there are other options available.
Instead of catching a flight from Budapest to Zagreb, you can get the train. While this does take a lot longer than flying from Hungary to Croatia, one advantage of going by train, though, is the scenery, which is some of the most picturesque in Europe. That said, for most visitors to Europe, wasting time on a long train journey is perhaps not the best idea, and flights from Budapest to Zagreb perhaps offer the most convenient travel method.
